Terms of Use & Disclaimer
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Use of the ZumiLabs OmniBrief extension is entirely at your own risk. The tool is provided "as is" with no warranty or liability of any kind.
Please read these Terms of Use and Disclaimer carefully before using the ZumiLabs OmniBrief browser extension ("OmniBrief"). By installing and using OmniBrief, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Use at Your Own Risk
OmniBrief is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Neither ZumiLabs nor the developer assumes any responsibility or liability for any errors, omissions, or potential damages resulting from the use of this software.
2. Data Privacy & Local Storage
OmniBrief values your privacy. We want to be completely transparent about how your data is handled:
- Local Processing: All web page scraping, local database operations, vector embeddings, and LLM summarization checks occur locally on your machine.
- No Server Uploads: No article texts, summary metadata, search histories, or credentials are uploaded or stored on ZumiLabs servers. Everything stays on your machine.
- Data Loss Risk: Because data is stored locally in the browser's OPFS, clearing your browser cookies/storage sandbox, uninstalling the extension, or encountering browser crashes could lead to permanent loss of your saved briefs, embeddings, and settings. ZumiLabs cannot recover this data.
3. User Responsibility
As the user, you are solely responsible for:
- The content you choose to capture, queue, or summarize using the extension.
- Ensuring you do not scrape copyright-protected or proprietary documents without authorization.
- Securely managing your custom PIN, as it encrypts your third-party API credentials locally.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall ZumiLabs or its developers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses) arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use OmniBrief, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. Changes to the Extension and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue OmniBrief or any part thereof at any time with or without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of the extension following any updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
